Our Terms and Conditions section is lengthy; we ask that all potential customers read it prior to placing any orders as it addresses many issues that come up in the course of business. We have tried to address as many situations as possible; however, there are always exceptions that are not covered. If you have any questions or concerns that are not addressed below, send an email to admin@coastnetwork.com or call us at 650-728-2153.
Leasing: We also offer a leasing program through Technology Leasing Corporation of San Jose, California. Also visit our Leasing Section for additional information. Purchase Orders: are required from our corporate, government and reseller customers and must be either faxed or emailed in advance of product being shipped. This can be faxed to 925-685-1760 or emailed to the following: sales@coastnetwork.com. Fitness for a Particular Purpose: We offer pre-sales help in choosing Cisco and Juniper solutions, using certified Cisco and Juniper sales engineers. However, final responsibility for your networking needs and applications lies with you, the customer, and Coastside Networking shall not be held liable for any particular recommendation or hardware purchase that you chose to make. Shipping: We ordinarily use Federal Express for shipping. Categories of service include: International Priority, International Economy, Priority Overnight (usually 10:30 AM), Standard Overnight (usually 4 PM delivery), 2nd day delivery, Express Saver (3 day), and Express Ground (items over 150 Ibs). If you prefer another carrier to Federal Express, advise us and we will do our best to accommodate you. Product is shipped FOB (free on board), i.e. ownership passes to the purchaser at the point of shipment and you are charged for shipping. Our normal cut off time for shipping is 3:00 PM PST; however, we may be able to ship later depending on the warehouse that product is drawn from. Once product is shipped, we will advise customers by email of the Federal Express tracking number. If you have your own shipper or wish to use your own Federal Express account, please advise us and we will accommodate you. Insurance: We insure all shipments for the full value of the invoice unless otherwise instructed and the amount will be added to the shipping charge. Some companies carry their own insurance and advise us not to insure shipments. Instructions to not insure a shipment must be reflected in your Purchase Order to us. The reason that product is insured is that all product is shipped F.O.B. (free on board). What this means is that ownership passes to the purchaser at the point of purchase. Once we receive an order from you, the customer, it is no longer legally our property. We insure all shipments unless you use your own shipper or you advise us by email or in writing not to insure a particular shipment. Packaging & Completeness: We use industry standard boxes designed for electrostatic devices, foam inserts and electrostatic bags for all products shipped. Each box contains a Packing Slip indicating what is contained in the box. It is the customer’s responsibility to check the items and to verify the contents, and report any discrepancies immediately to Coastside Networking. Claims: Damage or loss, if occurring during shipping, should be reported to Coastside Networking as well as the carrier at once. All claims for product shortage or damage must be made within seven days (7) on receipt of shipment by phone, fax or email. Returns: are subject to approval and customers must first obtain an RMA .Click on the RMA Request Form in the RMA section below. Once the RMA is approved and product is returned, then credit or refund will be processed. All returns are subject to a 20% restocking fee. RMAs: Product can only be returned with an RMA number. Returns are subject to the approval of Coastside Networking and are at the company’s sole discretion. Coastside Networking will issue a refund minus a 20% restocking fee. Click here for an RMA request form. It is also the customer’s responsibility to adequately insure all product being returned. Purchaser is responsible for properly packaging all merchandise. We ask that items being returned be adequately packed in industry standard electrostatic bubble wrap or foam as well as industry standard shipping boxes. If possible, we ask that you keep the original packaging and bubble wrap that we used in shipping the product to you. RMA product is subject to a 20% restocking fee unless product is defective. Taxes: If we are shipping out of state, we do not charge California sales tax. Each out of state customer shall be held solely responsible for all sales taxes and other taxes of their respective state and shall not hold Coastside Networking liable for any such taxes that occur. International sales are not charged tax; however, the purchaser is responsible for all local custom fees, duties, and/or related charges levied by the respective countries of import. Canadian customers do not pay duties on any hardware shipped between Canada and the United States. This is due to NAFTA (North American Free Trade Association) and tariff reductions. California Resellers need to complete and email or fax us a copy of a California reseller’s card. This is not the same form as your California reseller certificate from the State Board of Equalization; it is a different document. Click here for a copy of the resellers form. It must be signed, dated, and filled out prior to us shipping any product to you. International Sales: We do ship product worldwide; however, international sales require pre-payment by wire. We do not accept VISA/MC/AMEX on international sales. Also refer to the tax section above and see the discussion on tariffs. Please do NOT ask us to modify or change prices, descriptions of product, etc. in any way for purposes of export. Certain products are subject to export controls. Purchases by our customers must conform with all applicable laws and regulations, including but not necessarily restricted to U.S. Commerce Regulations and State Department restrictions. Avoid problems and visit Cisco’s site at the following http://www.cisco.com/wwl/export/matrix.html and http://www.cisco.com/wwl/export/crypto. Juniper customer’s should visit the Juniper Networks site at http://bxa.doc.gov/Encryption/Default.htm and confirm compliance with export regulations. Warranty: All refurbished Cisco hardware is covered by our 90 day warranty against product failure. All Cisco Specials are covered by our 120 day warranty. All refurbished Juniper hardware is covered by our 6 month warranty. All Juniper Networks Specials are covered by our 7 month warranty. Warranty does not apply to products damaged during shipping. Further, our warranty does not apply to product damaged during improper installation, operation or during modifications. Coastside Networking is not responsible for purchaser’s delay in testing and/or installing hardware. Extended warranties beyond our specified warranty are available at time of purchase. Refurbishment Process: All equipment received by Coastside Networking first undergoes a visual inspection to identify any physical blemishes, flaws, or other obvious external defects. Next, all hardware is inspected for intact serial numbers. All hardware is then thoroughly cleaned to remove any dust or other possible contamination. If needed, missing screws, brackets, etc. are replaced. Hardware is then powered up and allowed to run to identify any thermal issues. Failover tests are performed where appropriate. For switches, individual ports are tested. Fans are tested to be operational. Power supplies are also tested. Passwords are removed. Factory default configurations are restored. Diagnostic tests are then conducted to ensure compliance to manufacturer’s published specifications. Prior to shipment, all hardware is packaged in industry approved static free electrostatic bags and then sealed. All product is then shipped in industry approved industrial strength boxes. Order Cancellation: Orders can not be cancelled once Coastside Networking has received a confirming Purchase Order. All cancelled orders and product that is returned can be subject to a 20% re-stocking fee at the sole discretion of Coastside Networking. Licensing: Software re-licensing is the responsibility of the end user. Many networking OEM manufacturer’s licensing terms and conditions state that these licenses are non-transferable and that a customer who buys such equipment must re-license the software to be used in conjunction with the physical hardware. Coastside Networking is in the business of reselling the physical used networking hardware. We don’t resell software that may be loaded on these systems. End users are responsible for complying with OEM manufacturer licensing terms & conditions. Coastside Networking does not warrant any software revision levels or load software onto the products we sell. Title: Legal title to hardware passes to purchaser only upon good payment in full. Trademarks: The names Cisco and Cisco Systems and Juniper and Juniper Networks as well as associated logos are the exclusive property of their respective owners. Jurisdiction and Venue: You agree that any legal action brought by Coastside Networking shall be governed by the laws of the State of California without regard to its conflict of law principles. You further agree that that the sole jurisdiction and venue for any litigation arising from your use of or for orders placed with Coastside Networking shall be the appropriate state or Federal court located in Contra Costa County, California.
