Cisco Fact

When John Morgridge, who was employee #34, was driving to Sacramento to register the company, he saw the Golden Gate Bridge and suggested to the founders that they name the new company “cisco” after San Francisco. In its early years, the company went by the lower case “c,” calling itself “cisco.” The stylized Cisco logo of the Golden Gate Bridge also is indicative of the San Francisco connection.
